About me

I’m a freelance journalist currently based in France. I started my career as a hard news reporter and features writer in South Africa. My articles have been published in a variety of publications including: The Star, Cape Times, Huisgenoot/YOU, Sports Illustrated, GQ and Marie Claire. I am bilingual in English and Afrikaans, I also speak fluent French and basic Spanish.

Being a journalist has allowed me to experience unforgettable moments such as meeting Jane Goodall, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kelly Slater and Neale Donald Walsch. I have also reported on heart-wrenching stories such as accidents, murders and the canned hunting industry in South Africa. I believe that the status quo should constantly be challenged and I’m therefore driven by Diane Sawyer’s belief that great questions make great reporting.

I interned at Elle magazine before graduating from the University of Johannesburg with a BA Journalism degree. I also obtained a DELF B2 diploma in French which was awared by the French Ministry of Education and I am a member of the South African Freelancers' Association (Safrea).
